Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 Cups Warm Water
  • 1 Packet Rapid Rise Yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 3/4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

Directions

In a mixing bowl pour warm water, yeast and sugar. Let this mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Watch to see if the yeast is proofing. A creamy foam will rise to the surface of the water. This means that the yeast is alive and is ready to mix into a dough.

Now mix salt, olive oil, all purpose flour and whole wheat flour and mix either by hand or using a kitchen aid mixer, using the hook attachment. The dough will be sticky, that's fine. If you find the dough is hard to handle, oil your hands. You want to make sure everything is well incorporated. Kneed for about 5 minutes.

Clean the mixing bowl and oil the inside. Ball the dough up and place into the mixing bowl. Cover with towel and let rise for 1 hour.

Presto, you have a basic dough. Now you can spread the dough out as thick or thin as you like and top it with your favorite vegan pizza toppings.

Try the following MVC pizza toppings:

Pizza Sauce, Thick & Hearty

Pizza should be baked in a 450 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until bottom is brown.
