Seitan Hot Dogs

These hot dogs are delicious, definitely a step above those you buy in the grocery store and isolated soy free. These may have twice the calories of the store bought ones but they are almost twice the size.
I state to use Bush’s beans for a reason, the flavor is perfect. I tried using other brands of canned beans and they just didn’t taste the same. GO TO RECIPE >

I love the idea of a homemade seitan-based dog, but have yet to come across a good recipe. I think I’ll make and freeze a batch of these so that come baseball season I can thaw them as needed.

Josh, I made these hot dogs yesterday. Unfortunately, I can’t get Bush beans and Old Bay Seasoning where I live so I had to improvise. They turned out great, the texture was just right. Next batch I’ll bump up the seasoning. They were quick and easy to make. Thanks for a soy free hot dog.

I will never buy vegan hot dogs from the store ever again. The texture and flavor just does not compare to any other. I have made them several times and have even cooked them over the campfire. Amazing recipe! Much thanks.

Despite my best intentions on baking these instead of boiling them as you suggested the hot dogs turned out alright. Still good but I am sure they would have been more moist if u had boiled them.

*I had boiled them not you boiling/steaming them because that is what you did

Delicious! Thank you for this recipe. I have made other vegan hot dog recipes, and they weren’t nearly as good as this. I’m actually enjoying my hot dog!
