    What perfect timing, I just got some garbanzo beans so that I could try making my own hummus. I like the brand I get from the store, but I’d like to make it at home to save a bit of money (with 6 of us eating it, we go through a LOT).

    Eager to try this – I make my own all the time but after years of the same recipe, I think my kids are tired of it. I never roast my garlic – why didn’t I think of that? Nor have I ever added sugar. I’ll be interested to see how that changes it. By the way, i think cooking your own beans are key!

    Jamie, so true. I will never go back to canned beans. I bought a pressure cooker a few months ago and have been using it to make my own beans quickly. It makes all the difference in the world.

    Just made a batch and I love it! I don’t know how folks live without a pressure cooker! I have that thing hissing 2-3 times a week!
