I am out of nutritional yeast or I would try your recipe today, have to order some. It looks yummy though. I will try it as soon as the stuff comes in.

As usual, looks really good. I will be trying this really soon!

We tried this one tonight and it was AWESOME! One of the few vegan burgers that actually stayed together and did not crumble in the pan. One thing I would recommend– when forming the burgers, I use floured hands so they don’t stick.

    Thanks for the recipe!

these are great! My kids (3 and 5) liked them too.
I tried cooking them in my stainless steel pan but they were sticking a lot. So I cooked the last two in a nonstick pan and they came our perfectly. I really try to avoid using nonstick, but in this case it is almost necessary.

Briday, Also you can use an iron skillet with a bit of oil, that’s what I use.

why didn’t I think of that!
We have a cast iron pan. I will for sure cook them on their next time. Thanx!

Your recipes that call for frozen spinich…do you thaw it out first? I noticed many of the recipes do not include “fiber grams”…the g # is missing. Does that mean the fiber content is 0?

    Thank you

The spinach is always thawed yes. We didn’t start listing fiber grams until around our 30th recipe. So some aren’t listed. We are working on it though.

I do not have any nutritional yeast, nor do I know what it is. Can I make it without it? I am not a vegan, but I am trying to find yummy ways for my family to have meatless dinners….baby steps:) These and the lintel loaf will be on my table next week!

Molly, it would totally work without it, would only change the flavor slightly.

Why do you use baking powder in your Garden Burger and other recipes that normally don’t need to rise? Also, would it change the results of the recipe if left out in such cases.

Bonnie, I think it needs the baking powder. I have tried it without it and the burger comes out a little gummy. Anytime you add flour to something it seems it needs something to fluff it up.

Made these for dinner last night and they were great, as have all the recipes I’ve tried from this blog are! I served mine with a big slathering of chipotle ‘mayo’ (just chipotle pepper juice from the kind in a can and some vegenaise) and they were so good. I got 6 out of my recipe. The only thing I’d add is more salt.

Maybe I’ve done something wrong – maybe the measures are the problem (I’m from Europe and every time I have to convert it to mililiters etc. ;) ) but for me it was average. Not bad, quite good, but not awesome. Everyone likes diffrent things, so for me it didn’t make my day. Although very nice blog and I enjoyed other recipes :)
